Pairs Rules: This is a fun class which is also a speed class. The clock starts as the first rider jumps the first fence and stops after the second rider jumps the last fence.

If the first rider has 3 refusals and is eliminated the second rider has to complete the first rider's round from where the first rider was eliminated (the first rider must go back to the holding pen and pass the whip before the second rider can finish the first rider's round) before carrying on and completing their own round.

No penalties are added for refusals as the clock is still running. Four seconds are added to the total time for each fence knocked down.

PLEASE NOTE: This class can be won by a pair who have fences down when other pairs have gone clear. It is all down to total time plus time penalties added for knock downs.

No ODRC Club Membership points are awarded for this class.
Notes: Junior and Senior competitors will compete in the same class but are judged separately (ie there will be two sets of rosettes - dependent on class size).

A Junior is a competitor who is under 18 on 1 January 2012, ie if the competitor reaches the age of 18 during 2012 she/he continues to be classed as a junior until 31 December 2012.

Anyone wishing to enter both a novice class and the 3 foot class or higher, must enter the Advanced Novice rather than the Beginners Novice. Those entering the Beginners Novice class who wish to enter a second class may only enter the Advanced Novice. If a horse and rider combination has already won a Beginners Novice class, they may only take part in the Advanced Novice class from the following season onwards.

Qualifiers: The May and July dates are qualifiers for the Northwest Showjumping Championships and Cricklands.
